Year 3 PE

In Year 3 we aim to provide the children with a high-quality physical education curriculum which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We also provide the children with opportunities to compete in sport and other activities which build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

Half Term 1: We have focused on developing our Tennis skills and our fitness by participating and challenging ourselves in circuit training sessions.

Half Term 2: We have taken advantage of our fantastic facilities and have used the MUGA (Multi-use-games-area) to work on our football skills. We all know that footballers need to be fit and healthy, so we introduced new circuit activities which have helped to strengthen our legs and overall endurance.

Half Term 3: We are lucky enough to have a specialist dance coach in to teach us a dance routine from the world renowned 'Cats'. The children are thoroughly enjoying dancing and are following the choreographer very well!

After just one sessions the children have learned a large part of a dance routine. Their progression can be clearly seen from the first recording to the one below.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce the amazing Year 3, with their soon to be broadway production of CATS.

The finished product!

HT4: This half term the children will be developing their skills in Basketball and Netball.
